Complete and partial dentures can help you look younger by providing support to your cheeks and lips; aid in speaking, chewing and digestion.

Complete dentures are removable as they are held in place by suction and the muscles of the mouth or implants. There are two ways of getting complete dentures immediate dentures and conventional dentures.

A conventional full denture is made and placed in a patient’s mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed, which may take several months.

An immediate complete denture is inserted as soon as the remaining teeth are removed acting like a bandage. With immediate dentures, the denture wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period. But, like new shoes they have to ‘broken in’ with adjustments and soft relines over several months. Once the jaw bone remodeling has stopped changing, a permanent reline is required for an accurate fit.

Partial Denture

They may be used when a fixed bridge is not appropriate, or when more than just a few teeth are missing. Partial dentures come in several materials. The ideal type is made with one or more artificial teeth attached to a framework that is held in place by clasps that fit onto the natural teeth.

Partial dentures offer a removable alternative to bridges and leave future options open.
